The 2009 Boston Marathon will be held on Monday April 20th, 2009 and it will be televised locally in Boston, nationally on television and over the Internet as a live web broadcast. So choose your medium, sit down, and prepare to be dazzled as some of the fastest runners around tackle one of the most difficult marathon courses around.
The races start at the following times (all times Eastern Time):
– Push Rim Wheelchair Start: 9:22 a.m.
– Elite Women Start: 9:32 a.m.
– Elite Men; Wave 1 Start: 10:00 a.m.
– Wave 2 Start: 10:30 a.m.
Local Television Coverage
In Boston and the surrounding areas, the local television station carrying the Boston Marathon is WBZ-TV.
National Television Coverage
In the United States, television coverage will be carried live starting at 9:00AM Eastern Time by the Universal Sports Network. Check your cable listings for channel numbers. If you do not have Universal Sports on your cable system, then you can watch the coverage over the Internet as listed below.
Internet Broadcast Information
The 2009 Boston Marathon will be carried live starting at 9:00AM Eastern time on UniversalSports.com. This is a great way to catch the action if you do not have Universal Sports on your cable system or if you are at work during the race.
